Crown Bowls

Our Crown Bowling Club

The Worksop Cricket and Sports Club Crown Green Bowling Section were founded in 1910. The clubs’ ethos is to welcome all new players, support existing players and help make the game of crown green bowling a great social game to play and enjoy whatever your age.

The cost of membership to the section is £58 per annum.

The section has a beautifully maintained Crown green attended by experienced green keepers. The bowling season extends in daylight hours, between Spring and late Summer. (Winter bowling access is determined by the green keepers and weather conditions) The crown green offers open access to the green except when matches are being played.

Competition Matches

Match bowling is determined by League tables.  The women’s team play in The Dinnington and District Ladies Association the men’s team play in the Maltby League.

All members are encouraged and welcome to join the many different teams for men, women and mixed teams, although if you prefer, purely non-team games can be played.

In addition to the league tables, the section holds a yearly open invitation competition for both male and female members of all ages.

New Members

For those who have never played crown green bowls before or are still relatively new to the game, we offer introductory training sessions, held on Saturday mornings (when the green is available) between 10 am and 12 noon.

Bowls can be initially loaned by the club to help new players to have a go at crown green bowling.

The Crown Green Bowling section is a member of the wider Worksop Cricket and Sports Club and as such enjoys the facilities of this united group. We hold sectional bowling matches, which are usually highly contested but great fun. We hold special social events and as members are given a 10% discount on bar charges. Town centre car parking is included in the membership fees for when you are using club facilities.
