Family Friendly
Sports Club

Welcome to Worksop Cricket and Sports Club (WC&SC). We are a family friendly club situated just off Central Avenue.

The club comprises of four sporting sections, Cricket, Crown Green bowling, Flat Green bowling and squash. Each section effectively has it’s own elected committee which runs their sectional membership. Please click on the relevant section for further information, membership fees and application form.

The land presently occupied by WC&SC was originally owned by the Duke of Norfolk, but following financial difficulties and a disastrous fire to his home, Worksop Manor in 1761, the land was finally sold in 1842 to the Duke of Newcastle, and the land on Worksop meadow hosted Worksop rugby and football clubs. In 1890 the Worksop Manor Estate was sold to John E. Robinson Esq. (Sir John) of Daybrook Nottingham and the Western part of Bridge meadow site (the area located between the River Ryton and the Chesterfield Canal) became The Worksop Cricket Club. Ownership was taken over by trustees in 1900. Since then the Cricket club has survived many changes of ownership, the other 3 sections have been added and this club remains a hidden gem of the Worksop community.

Still run by trustees, the main club committee has representation from all 4 sections.
